India Travel Survival Guide For Women now in paperback

India Travel Survival Guide For Women Paperback Cover

My book “India Travel Survival Guide For Women” (previously in Kindle edition) is now available in paperback. The reason for the slight delay was because I was waiting for the proof (printed copy for myself) to arrive from the publisher & distributor (Createspace) in the United States. This allowed me to see exactly what the paperback would look like in my hands. Once it was in my hands, I had to preview the final version. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised with the printed version which I then approved. It took them about 4 days for them to make it available for sale on Amazon. I am also planning it go for “Expanded Distribution” which means it will be available to larger audiences through more online retailers, libraries, academic institutions, book stores and distributors such as Barnes & Noble within the United States and Europe. You can find the US version here and the UK version here.

  2. Hi!
Congratulations, Shalu! Beautiful book cover! This is the first time I came across your website and I’m really glad that I found it (credit goes to Harleena).

Just done browsing and can only say one thing: informative and very helpful posts. I think some cautionary tips can be used by Indian travelers as well. I have heard so many stories from acquaintances that they ate something offered by the co-traveler and later found themselves in hospital, losing all their stuff. Tips you have mentioned are sort of common-sense but sometimes people just don’t want to pay attention.

    Wishing you luck and success!

  3. Congratulations, Shalu! You are the best person to write this, being Indian *and* living in India. There are too many people nowadays claiming themselves to be experts on India but have never lived in India at all.

  4. Good luck with your book, Shalu. I do think it’s important to offer our books in both e-book and paperback formats. Especially with travel guides, as many people (like me!) prefer to have the print copy in front of them as sometimes you’re on the road and using technology can be awkward.

When you create an account with them and upload your files, you will have to wait about 24 hours and then they will get back to you about the formatting. This is when you order a proof for yourself. Hope this helps.
