  1. Couldn’t agree more with you Shalu!

These surly are great reasons why everyone should visit India – the best being the Indian food that’s unbeatable anywhere I feel because of the number of spices and flavors that go into it. Not to mention the effort and love people put into cooking it, which finally turns into awesome dishes.

That’s a lovely snap of yours enjoying Indian food. 🙂

I agree with all of your other points, though the parts about spirituality, our culture, traditions, mannerisms, and most importantly the warmth Indian’s show to anyone coming to our country is unbeatable I feel.

  10. Hi Shalu ji,

So so glad to read this post. A few affairs of late have rocked India’s stability but nothing can beat what you’ve mentioned, I totally agree with that. Of course, every state has it’s own culture and yet we live peacefully don’t we.

I hope the current turmoils cool off and let’s hope the true colours of India are actually put to view.

    Great post!

  11. Great to see this post. Once I had read Abdul Kalam’s speech that our media talks more about negativity – rape, blasts, corruption – and forgets the positive aspects. He had mentioned that when he visited Israel, there was a major blast and he purposefully searched the newspapers for that news and found a small paragraph devoted to that. It is not headline news like here in India. Even after displaying so much of negative things in the headlines everyday, have me made any change? Lets focus on the positive aspects and encourage people to also think about positivity. Lets encourage people to be successful by taking good role models as their heroes rather than people of dubious distinctions.

Recently I met a Chief Wildlife warden of a state for permission to film wildlife. He made a statement that negative sensationalistic things sell more in media. I am sure we have enough content to create positive mindshare rather than the india tvs and other such channels.

You have rightly mentioned food. Every region has got different food and has evolved taking into consideration the geography, climatic conditions and the lifestyles of people. When we travel abroad, we realise how good our food is.

Along with Africa, India has got great wildlife and can provide a superb wildlife experience to foreign visitors as well as Indians. There is lot of scope for adventure tourism like white water rafting. Some very beautiful landscapes for trekking. Warm and sunny beaches, rocky beaches, beaches with white sands… there is lot of variety there.

Classical dances and music: There are many foreigners staying back in India for their entire lives and learning it.

And last but not least, if someone wants to write a book, then can undertake a train journey and explore India like ex-BBC Sir Mark Tully.

    • Sabyasachi, there is no denying that positive thinking must be encouraged but not on the cost of real news.

Lets face it,negative news most of the time makes good headlines. Most of us are concerned about the negative things so we pay attention to it and learn from it and take precautions so that it does not happen to us.
Position news on the other hand are supposed to be the norm, we do not care much about it.

Thank you for mentioning Classical dances and music, they are worthy of being mentioned which I overlooked.

Thank you for your valuable input and hope to hear more from you.

      Best wishes
