Sand Cult, in association with Goa Tourism, presents Goans and visitors to the state with a visual treat – a chance to see the 20-foot tall sand castle which has been put up at Calangute Beach. Mr. Jerry Jose, Founder of Sand Cult, said, “Tourism in the state will derive the maximum benefit from this. Sand Art is a very fragile, delicate and complex art; through these installations we want to promote this art form.” Mr. Simon Snip, World Master People Champion has volunteered to help promote this art in Goa and he has created an elaborate installation around the animated character Shrek and his castle.

Hi Shalu,
This is wonderful indeed 🙂
I’ve seen the sand art being done live in one of the TV shows a few months back, and those people are SO quick. They had even come to a local fair in our city and we were just amazed at their speed and the way they create so many things so quick.
I think they need to keep watering such huge structures so that they remain as a tis, if I am not mistaken, or else it dries up very fast. This does look awesome.
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice weekend 🙂
These sand castles are great but never seen such a big one. Am tempted to check it out. Thanks for your comment Harleena.
I went there last time but did not see it.. going again in Sunburn Goa this time and will make sure that I get to see this at Calangute.
Great stuff, hope you enjoy. All the best.
I am yet to see a sand castle, for some reason I have never seen one though I have visited many beaches. This one looks like a masterpiece built with lots of details, and that Shrek really adds to the charm. Thanks for sharing.
It is definitely a masterpiece. I wonder how long it took them to create it.
