I can’t decide Seems as if I am a woman who can’t make up her mind. I am seriously thinking of changing the niche of this blog. The original idea of this blog was to blog about “how to make money online, affiliate marketing, blogging, internet and similar topics” which I was doing on this blog anyway http://www.howtomakemoneyonlineideas.com . I don’t know why, I decided to change the whole thing and decided to blog on this domain name. It’s not a great idea to talk about the same topic on two different blogs.

According to the Word Bank, the percentage of internet users in India is 7.8%. The graph below shows a steady increase in internet usage from insignificant to 8% by the year 2010. It’s a phenomenal rise.

If your website is looking a graveyard with no activity, you really need to do something about it. The thing is; how the hell do you get the traffic? If you have tried everything from commenting on other people’s boring blogs besides yours, tried article submissions, submitted to social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Linkedin and the rest of the usual stuff) and nothing has materialized and still dreaming of becoming an internet success story; then there has to be some other ways to promote your website.

Many people are of the view that to make money online , you need a website. But as a matter of fact you don’t. For some businesses, it is very true; to make money, you have to spend money. However, in the World Wide Web, it is possible to make money without actually spending anything at all. So here are some ways to make money without spending anything at all;

Internet marketing is a great career choice. It provides you with lots of personal freedom and allows you to give your family a level of financial security that a j-o-b simply doesn’t offer. I was on the Google keyword tool trying out some keywords for a niche blog and I happened to type my name in the search box. To my surprise, I realised that I was being searched on Google. I was amazed and confused at the same time. There are at least 210 to 390 searches. Why would anyone Google my name? Why would anyone look for Shalu Sharma on Google ? There are several reasons why anyone would try to look for me. One thing is that Shalu is a very common name in India. It is derived from the name “Shalini”, almost everyone called Shalini is automatically renamed into Shalu.  It’s something like Michael to Mike. The title “Sharma” is a very popular surname in India. So perhaps it’s not me at all.

  Finding a niche is probably the hardest thing to do specially if you know a lot of things but can’t figure out which is the best one to go for. Even harder is trying to figure out who the audience is going to be. You will need to divide the topic to very narrow areas within the niches. One of the most popular niches is “how to make money online by affiliate marketing”. This topic in itself is a very broad one. You will need to narrow it down to specific niches to eliminate and then to dominate. You will then need to think who you are going to target. You can see that my target audience are those who want to work from home. However if you dig deep enough, it can be narrowed down to even further categories of people such as; • People who want to work from home part time • People who want to work anywhere using a computer • People who want freedom to choose their own working hours • People who hate their job and want to do something different • People who lack advanced skills or deg...

If you are fed up with your blog and no longer want to live with it, there are certain ways you can kill it. Here are some tips if you really want to murder it. Spam other sites.. You can spam other sites using the comment feature. You can write useless comments such as; “ great site ”, “ nice post ”, “ thanks for sharing ” etc. Pick a site and do this on every single post of the website. Sooner or later, the blog owner will be get fed up with you and filter you to the spam corner for good. Move on to the next site. Oh yes don’t forget to leave a derogatory remark; sexual or racist remarks will do the trick.

Submitting RSS feeds is a great way to promote your website. This allows you to promote all past and upcoming blog posts. Here is a list of the RSS submission sites where you can submit your RSS feeds and get back links to your blogs. RSS feeds do a great job of indexing your pages quickly. Most of these sites allow you to enter your website details such as desired keywords/description, so use it wisely. This list is in progress meaning that it will be updated periodically.
